SHELDON WOLITSKI, FOUNDER OF CXA & COLORADO EXTREME
Sheldon Wolitski is the Founder of Colorado Extreme and Colorado Extreme Academy, where his vision and passion for the game are expanding youth hockey access across the Roaring Fork Valley and beyond. A former NCAA Division I player at the University of Alabama–Huntsville, he combines on-ice experience with an entrepreneur’s grit.
Sheldon launched The Select Group from his garage, went broke when the dot-com bubble burst in 2000, and rebuilt the company—fully bootstrapped—into a business exceeding $300M in revenue. That journey shapes how he leads today: removing financial barriers, investing in coaches and facilities, and building a community that teaches teamwork, resilience, and life skills on and off the ice. A dedicated father and philanthropist, Sheldon’s mission is simple—make hockey inclusive, affordable, and transformative for every kid who wants to play.

KATIE WOLITSKI, FOUNDER & Head of education & enrichment
Katie Wolitski is the Founder and Head of Education and Enrichment at Colorado Extreme Academy, where she combines her passion for education, athletics, and wellness to create a supportive environment for student-athletes. A former NCAA Division I soccer player at North Carolina State, Katie brings firsthand experience of balancing academics and athletics at the highest level.
As a mother and dedicated health and wellness advocate, Katie is committed to nurturing the whole child—focusing on personal growth, resilience, and lifelong healthy habits alongside academic and athletic achievement. Through her leadership, Colorado Extreme Academy has become a place where young athletes are empowered to excel in the classroom, on the ice, and in life.

STEVE BRIERE, CEO CXA
Steve Briere is the CEO of Colorado Extreme Academy and a longtime member of the Colorado Extreme family. Prior to Extreme, Steve served as an NHL goaltending coach with the Seattle Kraken and the Toronto Maple Leafs. A former NCAA National Champion and professional goalie, Steve blends his deep technical knowledge with a passion for developing the mental and leadership skills of young athletes.
Along with his hockey knowledge Steve bring 25 years of entrepreneurship in various industries from Biotech to consumer product experience. Today, he brings his blend of NHL and entrepreneurial experience to Colorado Extreme, helping guide the next generation of hockey players on and off the ice.

ARIES MUSTOE, LEAD EDUCATION SPECIALIST
Aries Mustoe serves as the Lead Academic Specialist at Colorado Extreme Academy, where she combines her athletic experience, educational background, and passion for student development to support student-athletes in balancing academics and athletics.
A former NCAA Division I goaltender at Merrimack College, her athletic journey also includes multiple tournament victories and a reputation as a dedicated and supportive teammate .
Beyond her athletic achievements, Aries is committed to fostering an environment where student-athletes can excel academically while pursuing their athletic goals. Her unique perspective as a former student-athlete enables her to connect with and guide students through the challenges of balancing rigorous training schedules with academic responsibilities.

CARLOS ROSS, COACH
Carlos Ross serves as a Coach and Hockey Operations Manager with Colorado Extreme Academy, where he brings his unique multicultural background, hockey expertise, and community-focused spirit to the organization. Born and raised in Brockport, New York, Carlos grew up immersed in hockey—his father coached collegiate teams, and he was on the ice before he could walk.
A former Division III forward at Western New England University, Carlos quickly became pivotal to the program’s success, helping the organization grow from a handful of participants to over 500 young players, with approximately 20% representing Hispanic communities. His bilingual background (thanks to his Mexican heritage) and local outreach helped build trust and inclusivity in underrepresented communities.

KADEN WOLITSKI, COACH
Kaden Wolitski is a dedicated coach with Colorado Extreme Academy, bringing a wealth of experience from his time as a player in the T1EHL and AEHL. A former forward for the Nashville Jr. Predators 18U AAA team, Kaden is passionate about skill development and fostering a love for the game among young athletes. His firsthand experience in competitive youth hockey allows him to connect with players and guide them in their athletic journeys
Beyond his coaching role, Kaden has been involved in significant events such as the Quebec Pee-Wee International Hockey Tournament, where he not only competed but also shared his experiences with current players, emphasizing the cultural and developmental opportunities the tournament offers.
As a coach at Colorado Extreme Academy, Kaden is committed to nurturing the next generation of hockey talent, instilling in them the skills, discipline, and passion that the sport embodies.

JEFF WINCHESTER, COACH & BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Jeff Winchester is a former NCAA Division I defenseman for the University of Alabama-Huntsville Chargers, where he played from 2002 to 2006. He was recognized for his contributions to the team, earning a spot on the 2004–05 All-College Hockey America Second Team.
After college, Jeff continued his hockey career professionally, playing in various leagues including the ECHL, Central Hockey League, and Southern Professional Hockey League, where he was a part of 3 championship Teams.
Currently, Jeff serves in Business Development at Colorado Extreme Academy, where he leverages his experience in team dynamics and strategic planning to support the academy's growth and success. His background in professional sports and understanding of the demands on student-athletes inform his approach to fostering a supportive and effective environment for young hockey players.

NICHOLE SADOWSKI, SR DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & ADMINISTRATION
Nichole Sadowski is the Senior Director of Finance & Administration at Colorado Extreme Academy, where she leverages her 15 years of experience in financial management and organizational leadership to support The Academy's mission and operations. Based in Carbondale, Colorado, Nichole has a proven track record in both nonprofit and professional sports organizations.
Before joining Colorado Extreme, Nichole served as the Senior Director of Finance and Administration for the Professional Women's Hockey League (PWHL), overseeing financial operations during a pivotal period of growth and league development. Her previous roles also include Director of Finance at the Premier Hockey Federation, as well as senior finance positions in nonprofit associations and private sector companies.
